POWER QUALITY SEMINAR:

TORONTO, NOV 12 2008

 

Energy Mad will be hosting a half day seminar on power quality in Toronto on November 12.  Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) will be used as the context, and discuss:

  • The impact of the rapid increase in the installation of CFLs on the electrical network, and how power factor issues jeopardize the investment and economic return for energy efficiency programs

  • How  CFLs affect power quality,  adding significant cost to the  system

  • How New Zealand addressed these issues

The keynote speaker is Mr. Roy Hemmingway, a U.S. electricity industry expert and former head of the New Zealand Electricity Commission.
